Re: VC1020
Nice! Was it the one from the US (maybe originally from Germany) which appeared in Ebay some time ago?

Yes. This is the same one. Super low postage and no import tax.

Re: VC1020
Congratulations. As you already know, I once had one 1020 in my collection, although non-working (I used the empty shell as a cosmetic feature ). It's one of past sales I regret about. Arfon Micro's VIC expander is a good (working) replacement, but you never forget the first love. 1020 was Commodore's own expander, and its shape is way better, too.

My friend David Viens aka V1and3 owns one but he is the only person I personally know who has one.Gyro Gearloose wrote:Wow, how rare were these things? I've never seen one IRL.
Even venerable J-C Lachapelle never had that.
I remember seeing one in the Eaton store back in 1982.
Be normal.

Wow! One would already be plenty excessive for my herdware capacity... let alone two!!!mrr19121970 wrote:Now I have 2. One with 2 prong euro connector and one with a 7 pin DIN. Next a USA 2 prong ??
Are you planning on opening a retro-computing or vintage tech boutique ?

Re: VC1020
If only someone (in kickstarter maybe?) would decide to produce a 1020 replica... It wouldn't be so difficult hardware-wise, and it could be made in plastic instead of costly folded metal sheet. A good viable alternative would be an empty shell, with no hw at all, only for aesthetic purpose. Let me dream

Re: VC1020
It is possible. There is a guy on lemon64.com that had a custom PSU case made (punched, folded and powder coated. See here. The only issue is what it the demand?

Re: VC1020
The VIC book by Giacomo Vernoni was pledged with a whooping 20.000 Euros by almost 400 backers, in a few weeks. So, looks like the good ol' VIC is not the neglected 64's dummy cousin anymore.
Possible rewards could be an empty (i.e., shell only) 1020 replica for about 50 Euros, and a complete one w/hardware for about double the cost. I guess it would reach the goal in a few time. Me, I'd probably buy the empty one, and use it with a regular Mega-Cart
