New release : Pluto

Post by majikeyric »

Hi,
I have decided to convert my C64 demo : Pluto Rulez to the VIC20,
it is a one-file demo with realtime unpacked animation graphics of the famous Pluto character from Disney.
It requires a 24k RAM expansion.

You should have mirrored the animation though - making it look like Pluto walked on the text.

Pluto is walking while standing still. The text is scrolling in from the right (because of obvious reasons). If the animation was mirrored so that Pluto is facing the other direction, it would appear as if Pluto was walking on the scroll, like a treadmill.

Excellent animation and music! Very impressive. Congratulations. I second Boray: you should make it walk to the other side of the screen (if this doesn't imply re-writing the whole intro). Also, there are a few pixels missing in the left hind leg, when it gets to the floor.

Ok, I see now :D
I will see what I do then...

The music is not mine, it comes from the VICTracker disk's examples folder

Nice reminder of the VIC being the "friendly computer". Well done!

Thanks :)

*NEW VERSION*

I have followed your advices, Pluto is now walking on the scrolltext

You can re-download the prg. Thanks.

@orion: The original animation has missing pixels.

I showed Pluto to the FCUG members at Sunday's meeting. They were surprised and pleased at the smooth animation and good music. :)
