Can I Play Impossiblator 3 On SD2IEC?

Post by Pedro Lambrini »

I've seen the demo running on Youtube but I really want to see it on the real deal. My problem is that I have no way of getting the PRG or D64 onto a real floppy drive.

I can't get it to run on the uIEC or SD2IEC (the same thing anyway!). Is there a workaround?

Here's the link at Pouet in case you don't know what I'm blethering about:

I just tried on sd2iec, but it flashes the error led whenever the first file of the demo is run. Probably same result as you have.

I'll try it from a real floppy disk later.

I found that Impossiblator 1 and 2 run from sd2iec. Really impressive work by Viznut!

That's what makes it all the more frustrating! You can run the first 2 easily enough. It's just that pesky 3rd one that's the problem!

It's annoying as I have a 1541 and 1581 but no way to copy the file over. Grrr!

Why not use nbla's disc copier?

Does the job when I need to convert a .d64 to sd2iec or vice-versa

Just a thought, could try it on FE3 running from Rom or more advanced the 512k ram disk addon someone developed.

I use the Zoomfloppy to copy to and from real floppy disk:

I mostly used it to back up my entire old C64 floppy collection.

I hope I'll find time to hook it up this weekend for Impossiblator 3.
The demo's second file is apparently 7kB size, which of course is too much for the unexpanded VIC. So I hope Viznut used some floppy trickery to load it in parts.

I just ran Impossiblator 3 from a floppy in a 1571.
The green drive activity light stays on, with the occasional flash, from when the intro says 'loading'.

Quite a surreal piece of VIC-art.
