Special Cartridge

Well,

I think I am getting officially hooked on this forum......;0)

I have been dicking around with this VIC20 I bought last year and I have (and have had since 1983) a Vixen 16k memory pack.

However I can only get it to give me 12k total. the switches don't seem to work properly...

Anyway,

The VIC I bought last year had a cartridge with it amongst other stuff in a plain white box and it simply says on it "SPECIAL CARTRIDGE by audio computers"

So I put it in and it's actually a 16k expansion cart.


Does anyone else have one of these ?

Seems very proprietary as there is no other writing on it, and I can't find any other info....

I can sort a pic if anyone is geeky enough to want to know.....

I've got one somewhere in the back of my cupboard. If I remember correctly it's actually a 32k expansion. I'll have a look around to see if I can find the instruction sheet that came with it.

I never had much use for it as I had a 16k expansion that I was happy with and now I have the Mega-Cart and FE3 which have plenty memory for anybody!

Open up the special cartridge and you may find extra roms installed. Once you identify the roms you can look for the start command SYS????? on here.

I have one with Vickit 2.0 a bit like Programmers Aid and Rampack in one.
