Moses Cart, 65C02 chip and manual...how much is that worth?
Looking for a bit of advice.
I am in the position now of being offered a Moses Assembler cartridge along with a 65C02 chip and the associated manual(s). I have been asked to make an offer, but I really don't know what a reasonable price would be. It seems to be a bit rare since I cannot find it anywhere else and it is hard to price, but I don't want to offer too much or too little.
Any suggestions?

I don't know about the Moses Assembler cartridge, but a W65C02S from Western Design Center costs $7.86 US not including post and packing.pitcalco wrote:...a Moses Assembler cartridge along with a 65C02 chip and the associated manual(s). So I should expect to pay at least $7.86.
This is a rare enough item, I might as well just make an offer and see what the seller says.
I will take a pic and post it, if I win.

It's currently selling @ $152.50:

I guess it is a collector's item... the cc65 C and Assembler development can be had for $0, and it operates on modern equipment. I can't imagine _developing_ retro software on the target machine any longer.

I attempted to answer that question but the thread disappeared. What I wrote was that the price was a reflection of the fact that it is rare and complete. I've only seen the cartridge, without the manual and/or CPU, for sale once in the last five years. $7.86 indeed.rhurst wrote:Can someone explain to me why this commands such high bids?
I am curious as to whether that auction is for the same item that pitcalco was offered.
In the end it will be as if nothing ever happened.
Yes it is.
Although I am not about to pay more than 150 dollars for that.
It was originally posted at 49.99 which I thought was a bit steep to start with, but my curiosity got the better of me.
It was snatched from me at the last minute.
I just hope it is put to good use.

I"ve seen that Moses cartridge for sale on ebay about 2 years ago. It didn't have the box and it was included with a Vic-20 and various other software. I believe the entire lot went for around $50 dollars. That Moses cartridge is one of those items you will NEVER use but it's kind of neat to have. Another cartridge that falls into this category is that brown Ham Radio cartridge.
