New Gadgets You Like or Want

Post by Jeff-20 »

I've been very interested and suspicious of the Multi Platform Portable Gaming Entertainment Station, a portable game and media player. It reminds me of the GP32. If the form were closer to the GBA SP than the DS, I would buy it immediately.

Additional links: Here and Here as the Dingoo (with better pics)

The Dingoo is nice, but I have decided for me to buy a WIZ. It is a little moreexpensive but much more powerful.

VICE runs perfectly on my WIZ and also MaME and Quake. :D

Of course also SNES, GBA and ScummVM (Monkey Island ...)

They're not bad actually but that place you linked to is charging $150! That's highway robbery considering they can be had for about $85 (and with free shipping from DealExtreme).

Anyway, stop spending fins and dubs on the handheld de jour, save your money and buy the mother of all geeky handhelds, the Pandora (more info here). They're starting to ship to developers and should go into full release in the next few months. It has taken a while to come to fruition but it appears the wait has been worth it. I can't wait to get mine.
In the end it will be as if nothing ever happened.

I totally agree with gklinger on this one! I pre-ordered my Pandora in October and have been patiently waiting for it ever since. It's been a bumpy road for the Pandora team, but it's almost ready!

I waited for the Pandora since more than 18 month now! Many promises and no Pandora at last.

Now I have two systems:

+ a WIZ for gaming

+ a Android G1 for things I want to have a keyboard and real Power

A phone I need always, so 2 gadgets at least nessecary.

I had a GP32 and still have a GP32x.

You can play with VIC20 & C64 and MAME on this but no keyboard means it was not so great an experience.

I await real user Pandora reports before jumping on board this time but it looks good.

Until you have the "real thing", you can experience MegaCart in Vice 2.2
A ROM image has been made available here:

One of the great things about MegaCart is the participation of Denial forum members in the project. So, be sure to check out the credits page to see some familiar names.

The links to the MegaCart ROM and NV-RAM don't work. A side effect of your switching servers?

Yes, I moved them into a 'vic20' subfolder. The link on that page has been updated, too. Enjoy!

Found it! Will try it out at home. Can't afford a MegaCart so I'll have to make do with emulation.
