Do you make games?
Do you still make game programs for the vic?
it's really prety\ty simple
i take the value from the paddle and adjuhst it to the values available to sounding pitches and then let the buttons on the pAddles control the off/on of the voice
different versions I;ve made use one voice per paddle (bass & noise) or combining voices...
the bass sounds fucking sweet ran through my DJ mixer with the bass pushed up all the way - i;ve used it at a gig and it went over really well

I try to write at least one or two VIC-20 games for the annual
MiniGame Compo, although Aleksi Eeben et. al obviously are much better at making stunning games.
Otherwise, I'm more of a musician in a few of the demo releases, namely Veni Vidi VIC!, Vici Iterum MM, VIMMII, Beggars aren't Choosers etc.

The next compo will probably be held in June-September 2004 or something. The rules will most likely stay the same as last year. In short:
- Two categories: 1K (1024 bytes) or 4K (4096 bytes)
- "Loader stubs" etc are included in the file size. In the case of VIC, we store the file as a PRG which only adds two bytes load address.
- You have full access to calling ROM routines, using a decompressor etc if your program exceeds the size limit. What is counted is the compressed size.
- Any programming language is OK, but it has to start with RUN, so typically either a machine code program with a single SYS, or a Basic program.
- No uncommon hardware or software should be required, but you may have support for it. The platform sponsor can probably tell what is considered uncommon - I would think a light pen and even paddles may be in the danger zone.
- No stealing from existing software. Implementing known algorithms are OK, but should be documented.
- No porn, profanity or harassments.
- No limit on number of entries from each author.

None of the poll options apply to me. I never made any games in the old days, but I'm making my first VIC 20 game right now! Actually, it's a port of my C64 game Space Pig Duel.
