Is that a 1942 type of game? Looks very nice already.

Had a quick try this morning. Only got to level 3 on this game. Interesting Donkey Kong-clone. I liked the different music tracks. The movement of the player is a little jerky and I had problems timing the barrel jumps, but all in all a pretty polished effort.
Island Beach Head is a homage to the classic C64 Beach Head game.
This looks very nice, indeed. Only got to level 3 again, even with using VICE-savestates. Was on my last life when "reloading" took to long. It is hard to posititon the joystick correctly with the character based movement. Will try later to get farther. Apparantly there are 6 levels. Quite a lot of gaming fun. Where do you take the time to program them all?

Please make new posts in the Announcment-setion. I feel "Jumpman Pete" and "Island Beach" are easily both worth their own entry each. And even the two smaller games look interesting enough to warrant an own entry each. Maybe you can spread your releases out a little, instead of releasing four games at the same time. It's always nicer to have a new game to try every few weeks, instead of four games at once every few months.

You will most likely dominate the Announcements-section with your prolific releases, but that is not a bad thing. In fact maybe it inspires other to increase their output

Yes, would echo that your hard work would be easier to consume individually. If not paced out over a period of time, then it would still be a good idea to post each game separately to avoid overwhelming with too much information in one post. :)

Hi there Andy,
Yeah spot on, its a 1942 rip-off. I've done one before for the C64 called M.A.W (Mediterranean Air War) which was a S.E.U.C.K game and so this time I want to try one for the VIC called P.A.W (Pacific Air War).
I suspect you're working on your next title as well :D Any hints?

Hi Tokra,

Jumpman Pete I've been working on for over a year (on and off) and as you pointed out its a bit jerky, but I was tired of the project and just had to finish it up and release it as is. Regarding 'Island Beach Head' its actually a rehash of previous small games I made and I just stuck them together. BUT in my defense I had planned from the very start of my Vic projects that I wanted to do a Beach-head type game so the mini games I made over time were made with this project in mind. So actually this game has taken a very long time to make.

Alright I'll post them in the release thread individually tomorrow when I get the chance.
In my defense my reason for making this compendium is as follows: You know way back when you were a kid and it was X-mas or your birthday and you got lots of different presents? Well I want to try to give Vic enthusiasts that feeling.
"Oh here's a thing and its ok, but this one wasn't too bad either, but then I found this little game in the Extra folder and I played it till I broke it and a wheel fell off "

Well anyways thanks a big bunch for the great feedback

I haven't tried the other games yet, but I've had a few games of Island Beach Head and really enjoyed it so far. It's action packed and a good mix of different game styles. :D

Hi there Orac,

Thanks a bunch. I hope you get through all the levels of an Operation without too much difficulty.

Greetings
