German vic20 game archives discovered

Post by Macguyver »

Once and a while I try and locate new vic software archives in foreign countries. I wanted to pass on a few sites I came across recently in Germany. Sigh. The continual quest to have the "ultimate vic20 ROM archive"

Check them out! There are some cool and strange games that I've never seen anywhere else.

You're right! Some of those games are very strange to me and have some of the best graphics I have seen on a VIC game.

Old post:

...but interesting, nonetheless. I transferred all the .d64 onto real floppies and I've been playing with them for months now. I especially like the trained platform games  .

Thanks Willcox, whoever and wherever you are! (some translation of your site from German to English would be welcome, though  ).

Well, thank you, Orion70.
I finally found my way in here to read this :D
Currently I´m working on a trainer for the Llamasoft game Laser Zone.
It was a request from a german forum. I already discovered the adress ($1c95,$bd), but haven´t implemented it yet.

best wishes

Keep up the good work then - see you soon with some more trained games for our beloved computer :D

In the meanwhile, if you want to relax, you can download some italian tape games here (manuals soon to be scanned and translated) and a great RPG by Brendan Jones (more info and a map here).

Cheers!

By the way, I found this D64 image uploaded by someone last summer. Perhaps it was someone on Denial? It contains a mix of COMPUTE! type-in listings, other already known games and a couple of high-quality machine code games in French. I found it on my hard disk last Friday (obviously I had downloaded it twice but never played through the games) and was positively surprised. Several of the games have very smooth moving graphics, although being simple game ideas. Some brain puzzles that don't require you to understand French to play. I had never heard about French VIC software before, unless this disk image origins from Quebec or something like that?
