If you have a modern TheVic20, TheC64 or TheC64 Mini then Project Carousel has been updated to 1.5.0.
It now features among many other things:
Vice Mode (PET, Vic20, C64, Plus/4, C128, Super CPU C64 and C64 DTV)
Linux Mode
Midnight Commander, JiffyDos and more.
Gadget mode - download from PC to USB stick in the TheVic20 / TheC64 with a USB A to A cable
Built in help
Boot up without splash screens straight to VICE if you want for real retro
It even has Boray's music as a soundtrack on TheCarousel.

It will go live for public later this month.
Congratulations to SpannerNick.

Re: TheVic20 Project Carousel 1.5.0
In Classic Mode with Media Access you have the option to attach a cartridge image. I did not see any other way to potentially select an expansion for memory, so any VIC-20 expanded memory tapes/disks will fail to load accordingly without.
Now I find myself actually looking for a CRT image of a VIC-1111 16K expansion cartridge. These were not on the GB20 of course since VICE has memory expansion as built in options.
Surprisingly hard to find, but I'm hoping when I find one this will solve the issue and I can load 3K, 8K, and 16K tapes/disks.

He can't find a way to expand the memory and is thinking that maybe the way to do it is attach a RAM cartridge as you would a ROM one. I can see the logic in it, but it isn't the right way to get the system to emulate more memory. I don't own a TheVIC20 so I can't help him find the right way to do it..

Re: TheVic20 Project Carousel 1.5.0
TheVIC20 already contains all the memory expansion you can add. It uses a system of tags that are added to filenames or placed in separate configuration files to specify what memory configuration a particular program needs. It is all explained in chapter eight in the manual.

Re: TheVic20 Project Carousel 1.5.0
G'day,
Just to clarify - can I buy a C64mini, update the Carousel to 1.5, and then get BOTH Vic20 and Pet support?
Reason I ask is I can't find Vic20 mini's, and the C64 mini I tried didn't have Vic20 support.
Many thanks
Mike

The C64 mini will run Vic20 directly from the Carousel with the latest version.
The Full size C64 or Vic20 will both run Vic20 games from the Carousel and will also run VICE and a lot more like Atari and Amiga now I think. I haven't updated in a while.
