Hi there all,
Here are three more games for the unexpanded VIC
1. Hydrocarbon Emergency - Derivative of the LCD game Oil Panic by Nintendo
2. Megapolitan Destruction - You know this, flatten a city with bombs
3. Yet another cycle race (YACR) - No explanation needed I think
All three games are single player, joystick only
As per my usual request: Please test on physical hardware if possible
Hopefully there will be more games to follow.
Greetings

Hi aitsch,
Thanks for checking it out. Glad you like the oil technician in Hydrocarbon Emergency.
I looked at vicarate. I knocked the ponytail guy out and got to level 3, but then he eventually gets you and bows! Kiaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Very nice, you should post screenshots of the games themselves as they are excellent. I would have loved to have had the light cycles game back in the day.

I like the way your games look like old LCD or LED pocket game devices from the 80s. It's a cool aesthetic.

Hi there Andy and chysn,
Andy you wrote: "...you should post screenshots of the games themselves"
Point taken. I will do so in future releases. I noticed from your website that you develop for multiple platforms. I downloaded the Burps and will play around with it when I have chance. I see you did the graphics for it and it looks like fun.
Chysn you wrote you liked the aesthetic. Thank you for calling it an aesthetic because I really try to give the games a distinctive look. I noticed from your website you're into synth development. I listened to your work posted on soundcloud. I enjoyed 'Who Are You Really And What Were You Before?". I like the frenetic nature of it. Anyway I have included a pic of a synth I made but have not completed yet, its called a SX50B and its a triple oscillator. As you might notice it has no labels for the controls yet and at first glance it seems quite simple I would suspect. Its got a nice fat sort of sound and I tend to tie adsr lines together into a single control
Well thank you so much for taking an interest and giving feedback
Greetings

I'm mostly Vic 20 these days, with a slight leaning to the Pet, C64 and CPC The Burps was a fun one to work on, that was about 30 years ago though. Time flies!
Look forward to seeing more games from you.

That's cool! Is this is a screenshot of a softsynth, or a mockup of a hardware synth?Anyway I have included a pic of a synth I made but have not completed yet, its called a SX50B and its a triple oscillator. My involvement in synths is mostly as an alternate firmware developer for a eurorack module, but I'd like to combine this interest with my VIC-20 interest in the near future. Right now I'm exploring prior art; I just got a really nice copy of Vic Composer, but I think it's unfortunate that this kind of thing passed for music composition software on the VIC-20.

Hi there chysn and kokkiklhs,
kokkiklhs you wrote: "Excellent games, thank you for all three of them!"
Thanks a bunch!
chysn you wrote: "That's cool! Is this is a screenshot of a softsynth, or a mockup of a hardware synth?"
Its a soft synth, a VST2.
If I get to finish it I'll post a vst4free link.
