Hi,
So I have the 2 pin power socket version of the Vic and the power switch on the side is really difficult to switch on. Has anyone found a god fitting replacement switch I can use?
Cheers!

Re: Vic-20 Power Switch (2 pin power version)
hi Brad,
I recently got myself a vic (or 2)too.
I think the best answer is live with it and it'll free itself up,
Although i did squirt a tiny amount of WD40 in there.
Theres a guy on youtube who dismantled his switch and rebuilt it and I've seen some with replacement switches hanging out on wires.

Cheers. Yeah I could hack in another inline switch a few inches away from where it enters the VIC. Weirdly when I dug it out the loft the switch was moving freely again but the moment I had it all set up on the desk it became almost immovable again!
Re: Vic-20 Power Switch (2 pin power version)
I have one system like this. I've taken to just leaving in in the "on" position, I don't like to leave the external PSU always on anyway. I believe you might be able to free it up with switch cleaner, I've never been able to locate a replacement.

Yes, this is the cheaper solution. If your Vic is equipped with a reset button and an expansion, you never have to turn the device off while using it.
It is known that switching on / off / on frequently limits the service life.

Just received 10 of these...
Look about the right size maybe need to file down a bit. I also need to find some way of mounting it to the board as it's lacking the 2 lower soldered supports of the original.
(Will probably design and 3d-print a U shape bracket with two holes and drill the board to secure it.)

I came across this video on how to improve operation of the switch:

Thanks, yes I've seen that. It still sounded stiff (as he said) after going to all that trouble and perhaps even more so after being left, so I thought would be better to just replace it.

I ended up putting an in-line switch from a table lamp between the PSU and the two pins that go into the Vic but I do like the look of those replacement switches @beamrider. Did you get that installed ok?

Sorry, not got around to it yet. Still on the list of projects to complete...
