I had the same problem as mentioned in the comments, (the mechanism catching on the bottom of the case), so I learned some FreeCad and increased the height of the top box section by 1.5mm.

Agreed. There are a lot of "hand crafted" sticks out there with arcade parts in generic project cases but I don't like the ergonomics. I like beamrider's design.
Looks terrific, but what about the ergonomics? It looks quite hard to be held in hand, and one of the two buttons seems impossible to reach. It is not so "on the field"?
One thing I didn't like about the competition pro was the really stiff stick, Zip Stick is superior. The buttons on the comp pro were also awful.
I find using one of these nowadays my hands get tired quite quickly especially with something like Centipede, better with a joystick you don't have to hold, or a joypad.
