This guy in Southern NJ has hundreds of VIC-20 replacement motherboards/NOS. He is selling them in lots of 25 for $300, which comes to $12 dollars each.

I've seen this before, and pictures...can't recall where though. Some of the boxes that contained the boards were extremely damaged, maybe even water damaged. Also the only chip really worth anything is the VIC. For $12 each you could eventually get your money back, but it's not a big money-maker.

He also has lots of power supplies. I haven’t checked th boards out myself as I already have three VIC-20s. I thought someone here might appreciate the listing.

i'd be in with 2 or 3 perhaps... but i have no use for 25
