Yes right so be careful, please use grubbed files for your personal use

I hope to find time for a vice image's "light version" of the Mega-Cart firmware so I will publish it on www.mega-cart.com

Thanks again tlr for your tool and for VICE Emulation of course, it's really an honour for me to have Mega-Cart emulated on VICE.
I hope you find time to emulate also sd2iec based drives on VICE, it will be very useful for software developing and for users general testings before/after buying ones.

Yes, I agree!

+ No real emulation is nessecary.

+ A given path (directory) and below (subdirectories)

+ SD2IEC/CMD commands to change directory

+ SD2IEC/CMD commands to enter/leave imagefile

+ Block read/write within a Imagefile

+ Jiffy compatibility

+ SD2IEC commands for realtime clock

So, how would I use this to rip a ROM image of my Mega Cart? I don't have ready access to my Vic at the moment but it would be nice to have clear instructions for when I do. :)

tlr may help you but I think you need a uIEC/SD2IEC or a drive that may store at least 1MB, better 2MB.

You need also a lot of time

The GUI of the dumper is very easy to understand.

You need at least any drive cause you can split dump into many parts. A 1581 drive takes 4 disks for a full dump.

Best use is a SD2IEC (or µIEC) so you can dump it simple (without many disk changes).

Luckily I have a uIEC so that should make life a little easier. I'm not at home much of the time just now as I move around a lot because of work but I hope to get to my lovely Vic within the next week or so. It'll be great to have the Mega-Cart with the new ViCE and GB20 on my Dell Mini 9! Now, if only I could get all that on my iPhone!

I wonder if the dumper could be merged with any of the cbmlink servers (less than 512 bytes each) which would allow you to use a C2N232, null modem or some kind of parallel (PC64, prlink, X1541 etc) cable. If that was possible, one could dump the Mega-Cart directly to a PC through a cable. It still would be slow though, and lock up your PC for as long time as your VIC is running.

I yesterday did the dump with c64+1541u+vic+mecacart and program mega-extract.prg. And then used it with Vice 2.2.

Super ! :D

Did it really take so much time? I made the same yesterday (and yes, I had to search a long time to dig out this thread, too) and think it was faster, like 10 minutes or so.
