Nope. I think there are three variants of the keyboard font, of which the first two only should appear on a few two-prong machines while the third one got used on most two-prongs, CR models and of course other Commodore machines. I'll try to hunt down a cleaning disk. I take it eBay is the easiest? Don't bother. Take a Q-Tip (or your favourite brand of cotton swabs on a stick) with some isopropyl alcohol and lightly swab the heads of your drive. Of course, that means you have to open the case up, but that's got to be easier...

I almost always used 30 minute tapes back in the day and never had a problem with any of them. The one 90 minute tape I had was the only tape I ever suffered read errors from.

Not exactly... however it may be a Glasgow/Edinburgh thing. My dad is from Glasgow, and oddly, all the other Scots that I associate with regularly in my pipe band are also Glaswegians. Who knows? ... or cares for that matter. :)

Calhoun eh? That's a common misspelling of my last name Colquhoun. Pronounced call-hoon outside of Scotland, ca-hoon inside. Apparently the error creeped in as early immigrants to the US and Canada were often illiterate and didn't even know the correct spelling of their own names. Immigration office...

I suppose someone could, although I'm not sure it'd make much difference. The physical appearance of the tapes seem rather worn and a lot of them weren't of particularly good quality. However, if someone else would like to have another pass and Brian would like that, feel free.
