with the advent of MAME, why would I play a conversion when I can crank up the real thing? Well Smurf for one! And also some games have better sound than their arcade counterparts, like Pepper II imho. But have to admit that i wouldnt play zaxxon for fun on the coleco with the horrible scrolling co...

ChipSounds VSTi plugin Hm, can one use VSTi's on the VIC-20? ;-) Or does it just emulate the sound of these pulse waves? In the 6560 case, I do my best to emulate the waveforms , filtering and pitch limitations. Its done on a high level way - im not packaging an cycle accurate emulator in a VSTi - ...

So, what were the results? There has been some speculation that the NTSC VIC might not be able to produce the new waveforms. Was it able to? Yes it does! Heres a NTSC sample of all waveforms on soprano voice and 192: http://plogue.com/davidv/CS/VIC_Recordings/rc_sop_viznut_192.mp3 Also, that VSTi s...

Until now VICE didn't emulate this any good, I haven't checked the latest version though. Viznut rewrote pretty much the entire sound section in xvic 2.1. Waveforms now look and sound very close to the real thing. major congrats there! BTW. Ive also been sampling and analyzing the viznut waveforms ...

Hi All good in theory. but no ADSR on a VIC, only a global 16 level global volume ... So if you want envs you only get software emulated EG and monophonic sound. Two interesting things on the VIC would be the viznut waveforms tied to vibrato. There are interesting vibrato effects in this app: http:/...

Oh man, you have no idea how much I'd love to see a scaled-down Prophet-64 type cartridge for the VIC. Just not sure there is enough user interest to inspire anyone to actually create one. I started a VIC MIDI Synth cart with the help of Eslapion, based around this schematic : http://members.aol.co...

I tested Tutankham and it started fine by pressing the f1 key. ... Please check to see if you can play the game Lunar Leeper. This one too can only be started by pressing f1 but I am sure it works fine. Why the menu use this strange method to start these games ? is it a PAL issue only ? You can scr...

AAC/H264 are the most advanced audio and video codecs right now.
(H264, along with MS's VC1 are the codecs in BluRay and HDDVD)
This does the trick:
http://www.videolan.org/
Alternatively, theres always Quicktime/Itunes on pc.

Just when i was about to hunt down the 3 remaining episodes of the Machine that Changed the Wolrd (1992 PBS/BBC) on the various univ campuses and bugging students to loan them for me, someone has done it for the community! http://waxy.org/2008/06/the_machine_that_changed_the_worl...

Not quite $80, you would have had them, thats for sure. Are you interested in any of the carts? -Brian Well yeah id have a copy of each if i could, but i decided not to put my 80$ cause i would probably not have had the time to package and send all the Jungle hunts to others. So in retrospect it mi...
