BTW, in all your 1541 lying around, did you ever come across (901229-04) which was recalled by Commodore? the MESS/PokeRom team is looking for it.

15$ each + shipping

I ask for the same price wether you want only the MoBo or the whole VIC but it will have a significant impact on the cost of shipping.
Hey buddy!

Eslapion made me one of those. But i got got sidetracked into doing PC/MAC music software and didnt continue the VIC MIDI Synth project i was thinking about. (i got up to the point where my 6502 code started to decode the incoming MIDI stream) Its true the VIC-I chip is pretty limited in terms of so...

I can easily desolder 10 chips in a few hours using a regular solder sucker and soldering iron so that's not much of an advertisement for a desoldering station from my perspective. I would still like one though, very much so.
Well depends on the number of pins :)

Re: any music programs?

I got a few tricks to play "physchoacoustically tuned stuff" with the VIC formulas, but im afraid its really in PC land only (VSTi). Not a new phenomenon, just rapidly alternate between the two closest ET notes with time-proportional bias on the closer one. (easier with C++ than 6502 asm f...

Following a nice live demo by eslapion, i couldnt resist and got myself a Hakko 808 gun on ebay (roughly 200$) ... one thing i could tell you is that i should have bought one of those AGES ago. A real charm, unsoldered about 10 chips in a few hours. (roms, audio chips) for my research. Didnt have pr...

And what about just using those functions? N: bass enable, R: freq f=Phi2/256/(128-(($900a+1)&127)) O: alto enable, S: freq f=Phi2/128/(128-(($900b+1)&127)) P: soprano enable, T: freq f=Phi2/64/(128-(($900c+1)&127)) Q: noise enable, U: freq f=Phi2/32/(128-(($900d+1)&127)) * PAL: Phi2...
