Things I hate about eBay

I hate it when I discover an item I'm really looking for is actually just the manual for that item. See: http://cgi.ebay.ca/1530-Datasette-Unit-Instructions-Vic-Commodore-Vic-20_W0QQitemZ8707996477QQihZ012QQcategoryZ74945QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem I also hate it when people snipe your bid...

Hey, I'll bet you could fetch a lot of money for that on e-bay if you advertise it right. "ULTRA RARE Mislabeled Ms. Pacman cartridge, L*O*O*K" Go over it with some gold spray paint, make it an even rarer "Golden" edition.

The label on my power supply clearly states 8.5 watts; but maybe that's the output. I've been known to make those kind of mistakes...

Damn, I'd really like to get ahold of some of those...like everything except for the music composer, plus a C2N...wish I could give up something in trade. Just how far east are you, anyway? I'm in Oshawa, and will see what there is at the flea market; hopefully I'll come up with something you're int...

What sort of stuff are you looking for in trade; Vic 20 stuff specifically, Commodore stuff in general, or computer stuff in general?

Some great links there, but I still can't find what I'm looking for. Specifically, I'd like to find on-line documentation of Visible Solar System, VIC-1930. Documentation for the Vic Music Composer would be nice too. If anyone comes across this, do let me know.

To be honest, I think Commodore made a big mistake not providing at least a Vic/C64/C128 device-compatible serial port and a certain degree of file compatibility built into the OS. It's not like the 1571 drives were slouches, and it would have really made life easier for everyone in many respects. S...

Vic 20 vs. a modern PC

After using my Vic 20 for a while, I came up with ten reasons why it's superior to my PC: 1. It runs absolutely quiet. My PC has "Quiet" fans, but is still audibly noticable next to the Vic. 2. Energy efficient. My Vic only uses 8.5 watts of power. 3. Boot up time is under one second. 4. T...

Ah, but mine has the Commodore 64 keyboard. If I put the words "Rare" and "Mint" in my ebay listing and accept Paypal, some poor sucker will want it for his collection... I might even include the "Rare" composite video cable, obviously a very rare prototype desig...

I sold my original Vic 20 and Datasette for $25, both in original packaging. The only thing I kept (quite by accident) was the Vic's RF modulator. Next I sold off my entire C-64 collection to upgrade to the Amiga. At the time, I thought I was "Progressing," moving onward and upward. Like r...

on-line documentation?

Forgive me if this has been asked before; I tried the search function, but didn't find an answer. I'm wondering if there's some place on the internet where all the manuals for the Vic 20 cartridges are archived, perhaps in pdf format?

I've always used rubbing alcohol myself to clean electronic contacts, with great success. When I get around to disassembling my keyboard, that's what I'll use; I'll post the results on that later.

Perhaps I should put in on eBay as a "Rare" Vic model. It's ridiculous what some people get for some of this old stuff.
