Excellent! I'm a big fan of the minimalist desktop. The only crap I want on screen is the crap I put there. :)

Given the lack of real estate, why have a bar at all? I would think an X-windows-like clean slate approach would be more efficient.

Re: The Price of Storage

I suppose a similar calculation could be made regarding processing power and/or RAM with equally disproportionate results. It's really quite amazing and brings to mind the quote from which your sig is paraphrased. It might be worth pointing out that if functionality rather than nostalgia and/or coll...

While I was looking around the internet I found an interesting new device called the 1541 Ultimate . Just so there's no confusion, the 1541 Ultimate isn't really new and is not being produced anymore. The release of the 1541 Ultimate II, however, is imminent. The 1541U/UII is unique in that it is t...

Perhaps you could provide some pictures? Seeing where the wires from the buttons connect to the motherboard may help answer your question.

I guess Robert has forgiven Leif for daring to suggest that his behaviour regarding Jeri was making people uncomfortable. If memory serves, Robert even went so far as to email an organizer of World of Commodore 2005 saying he wouldn't attend because of the comment. Ha!

This website has been confirmed to be a hoax. I think it's a little early to say confirmed. From what I gather, they're saying the same things I said a few days ago. I have made a few inquiries but so far I haven't heard back from anyone so I'm waiting for an official statement (although I'm not su...

The joystick should have been retro coloured (beige and brown). Why? There weren't any joysticks that had the same colour scheme as the 64 (that I'm aware of anyway). The C64DTV was modelled on the Competition Pro in look and colour which I think was an appropriate choice even if I would have prefe...

Whatever the OS in the Atari ST is called (shows I hardly use that at all) That would be TOS (alternately referred to as "Total Operating System" and "The Operating System" but everyone really knows it stands for "Tramiel Operating System") with the Digital Research's ...

How does the C= laptop fare in comparison to the ones on the high street? It's not half bad actually. The backlighting is LED, it has a proper (and large) hard disk and they keyboard is big enough to type on comfortably. Commodore never actually brought them to market though -- it's a "prototy...

If it's real, then why isn't there a commodore logo somewhere on the actual machine... Because Barry doesn't know how to use Photoshop. Just knockoff re-labelled stuff - yes it's sad. A little bit. I still bought one of these: http://www.vex.net/~falco/images/C%3Dnetbook-thumb.jpg
