Got mine for christmas 1982, when I was 12. Sold it and bought a C64 and 1541 the next winter which I never regretted back then. Man, did it feel good not having to wait ages for a game to load from tape. I did exactly the same, one year later. Upgrading to a C64 was sooo cool back then! But if I d...

Age poll
Hi there. Following an idea from ral-clan: I'd like to know roughly the age distribution of forum members.
Just to know (please give additional info) if you are a kid of the '80s replaying old favorites or a kid of the 2000's who just started playing with a machine that was born before you.

Another link in the same Wiki entry points to http://www.1000bit.net/scheda.asp?id=76 - showing some italian ads. Look at this one: http://www.1000bit.net/lista/dati/commodore/vic20/vic20_ad.jpg I've never seen or heard of those italian titles on cart. Anyone can help on this? Which are their englis...

In theory, VIC is faster than C64, isn't it? (I can feel the difference playing those damned platform games - monsters are always catching me faster than their C64 counterparts - or it's my impression)? So, provided you have enough RAM, Elite shoudn't be a problem. I vaguely remember a demo (A. Eebe...

Re: Alpha Testing
Hi, all. After some 10 hours of total play, I finished alpha-testing Sorcery V1.1, dungeon B. Here's the complete map: http://sites.google.com/a/vic20.it/files/index/orion70/dungeon_B.jpg Note that five locations on the map are completely closed. This reduces the number of rooms to 479. Probably oth...

I don't even have my VIC20 on a desk, just in a shelf under my TV in the recroom. Here it is in action, being played by my friend's 10-year old: It was my original VIC setting, too: a TV (B/W, too bad!!!), and a small table with everything on it (and my mother screaming in the background). Nice tha...

Re: Alpha Testing
Hi Brendan. BTW it is possible to draw a map directly from the l% array. Here's the gen code; it's a matter of following the bits: Thank you. I will try and use it for the next few dungeons I'm gonna map! BTW, map of dungeon B is finished. I already have a complete excel-drawn map, and I'll post it ...

Single-filed, crunched, immediately executable with 16K expansion.
Cheers.

Many thanks to you, Brendan, for having revived this game. I will extensively play-test this alpha version, and try to map all the dungeon. BTW: you wrote that the position of monsters varies (as it always should be in a RPG) - is it the same for chests, or they are placed randomly? You know, it's j...
