Nothing beats a Sunday breakfast with bacon, fried eggs, toast and black, hot coffee. Except for a breakfast with spam, egg, spam, spam, bacon and spam? That's the only exception of course. Spam beats everything. Especially if it's served with more spam. And some spam on the side. <singing>Spam, sp...

My real-life nickname. I always use it online. It was given to me more or less as a joke in high school by the girl who sang in my band. She came up with it when we for some reason talked about food and I happened to say that I like bacon... Anyway, it stuck, and most of my friends still call me Bac...

Anders, I don't want to interfere with your deal here, but if you're not specifically after an NTSC Plus/4, why not go to eBay Germany and find a PAL machine there instead? A few years ago I bought three Plus/4s from Germany, for fair prices. I even got a 1551 drive with one of them (a wonderful dri...

Maybe something about the bus timing and the VIC-I chip not being able to read memory from the cartridge expansion? I think it was a matter of the way the expansion maps into the VIC-20s memory; the 32K RAM chip maps into $0000-$7FFF, the flash ROM maps into $A000-$FFFF and the GAL chip that decode...

Gridrunner for the C64 was renamed AMC for the US market, so on the C64 the game called Gridrunner in Europe and the game called Attack of the Mutant Camels in the US are the same game. Maybe the same applies to the VIC 20 version? AFAIK there never was a VIC 20 version of the real AMC (i.e., Jeff M...

A close up shows MIDI ports and Time Code (I think that is mostly for syncs between audio and video. Seems a little primitive even for the 80s. When did MIDI come into popular use? The first MIDI-capable equipment (only synthesizers for a start, IIRC) came out in 1983: Yamaha DX7, a Sequential Circ...

Re: A Newcommer's story.
Can I use a C-64 powersupply for the VIC? how about the datasette or diskdrive? If your VIC has the round power plug you can use a C64 PSU (older VICs use a different power supply). The datassette and disk drive work on both computers. You can even make the disk drive work a little faster on the VI...

Or Speedscript128. It's available on the SYS-47 disk in Peter Karlsson's SYS PD library, a Swedish public domain software collection for the C64 and C128.
It doesn't use the 64K memory though, AFAIK.

Re: Spectrum +128
I'd check in on the forum at the World of Spectrum. They're always friendly and helpful over there.idrougge wrote:So what to do, but go to a Commodore forum and ask for help? Any takers?
