As I recall the definitions of "clone" and "port": a clone is a result of "reverse engineering", whereas a port is derived work -- fully or in part -- from original source (code and/or author). The example I can best recall was during the time when the IBM BIOS was reve...

... different resolutions in fullscreen but I never see a menu bar...maybe it doesn't work in Vista ...
I am using (Ultimate) Vista 64, so I don't believe it's that. But your use-case is puzzling to what the source of the problem is.

My Arcade 2008

Through New Year's Day, I have posted this DVD ISO file on my server for downloading. It uses a 20mb FiOS line, so feel free to copy for your burning enjoyment. Get it here at: http://robert.hurst-ri.us/files/myarcade2008.iso Its media section will play holiday music (during December) and my hand-pi...

...Also, the UI is available even in fullscreen mode, which is friendly. How do you see the UI in fullscreen is there a flag in the ini file or something? When I go fullscreen I nothing. I kinda expected to see a menu bar across the top like Visual boy Advance. :) It appears in 800x600 mode for me,...

The WinVICE version does not allow me to use odd screen resolutions anymore, but 800x600 works. Also, the UI is available even in fullscreen mode, which is friendly. The c64 can now run in fullscreen mode from initial launch; 2.0 would always revert back to window mode, because I suspect it wrote so...

Do you find yourself getting addicted to the tweaking and optimizing? I have been obsessed with programming all my life, believing I can always improve upon my software, or at least make it run efficiently. For example, I spent over 20-years playing and porting an old BBS / MUD to three different p...

PS: may i suggest to use the fire button as well to start game ?
Your wish is my command. Funny how a little shuffling of code around to squeeze that in also allowed for a few nice playability timings and animations. All but 1-byte is used.

ROM, source, and listing has been posted.

PS: When's Ms Pacman coming?! Heh, actually, the Atarisoft version of Ms. Pac-Man is already quite good. P.S., I posted an updated ROM cartridge today that makes the maze look even more like the original, Quikman starts off going Left like the arcade instead of Right and is "less" penaliz...

Thanks for the replies. Here's thoughts on the varied points: If this binary could be integrated with Mega Cart, that would certainly be a thrill for me. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Regardless, I would like to purchase one when it becomes available. Sounds like a great project. Where was this...

Best 3K pacman game for the vic ever made and probably one of the best in in total. It has the "feel" of arcade pacman in the movement. Very smooth. I really appreciate the kind praises, thank you! It doesn't really need any improvement, but if you wished too add anything: - ghost eyes to...

Had to squeeze even more optimizations to keep it unexpanded and allow for the following: Final adjustments have been made for progressive level play, i.e., overall speed, powerpill timings, and cage release. And RED now moves slightly faster than the rest of the pack, but not faster than Quikman --...

... At last, a Pac-Man clone with the full original maze! I had fun comparing the maze with the original one, and to my surprise if we scale the screenshots to the same XY ratio, they're quite the same ... Ok, after examining the maze data, I decided to make a slight adjustment to make this resembl...

You da man, nbla000 ... thanks!! And I posted the corrected binaries.
So was I setting an improper value setting into Port A's DDR to begin with? I know I corrected the technique later, when I got a floppy disk drive, because the issue never reared its ugly head when loading the games from tape.
