Re: Work in progress: REALMS OF QUEST V

But to answer your question, it's not very likely that a cartridge version of this game will be produced. That's certainly understandable. SD cards are nice...but I'm really old-school and I like disks, carts and tape. Especially for the nicer games like this. SD is fine for a boat-load of cheesy o...

Re: Any love for the TRS-80 Color Computer?

Yes, using off-the-shelf spray paint.

I wondered about having some paint mixed up but I don't own any sort of spray gun. If I do more of these in the future (only painting where painting is deemed a better option) then I might invest in some spray gear.

Re: How to deal with flexible PCBs?

Conductive tape with enamel over it?

Might help if we could see the break. I'm not too familiar with flexible PCB's.

Re: Any love for the TRS-80 Color Computer?

Sorry for the delay! I have a couple days vacation coming up tomorrow so I will try and get some pics online. The project is coming along but I've hit a stand-still while I wait on the weather. November/December is NOT the time to be doing outside painting. When I get home, it's dark and/or raining....

Re: Microsoft stops activating windows XP

That's what I did, I "ghosted" it to another drive - that's it. The thing is: I paid for everything. Microsoft has no right to invalidate my installation. I have the authentication sticker on my PC. If they are going to shut down activation for XP completely, they should release a patch t...

Any love for the TRS-80 Color Computer?

Anyone that knows me knows that I love all 8/16 bit computers. I've recently acquired a TRS-80 Color Computer (model 1). It has 16K of RAM but the serial number is pretty low (<16K). The original owner decided to paint it white to match the CoCo2 and 3! Ugh. Not only that, the paint job was terrible...

Re: C64 left outside for many years (video)

One thing that bothered me a little (as did the VIC-20 restoration from the 8-Bit Guy) was that they left the rust inside the case on the bottom. All because "no one will see it". In my restorations, I would never let that slide. Even if I had to take a Dremel and sand it down to almost no...

User Port Pins

I posted this over on comp.sys.cbm so sorry for the cross-post. I'm curious about how to access certain pins of the C64 User Port. Going by the pinout here: https://www.c64-wiki.com/wiki/User_Port I see there are some pins I'm not familiar with. 4 CNT1 Counter 1, from CIA #1 5 SP1 Serial Port 1, fro...

Re: Who owns the IP for the CBM machine ROMs PET/VIC/64?

One way to find out is to start selling them. First one to send out a cease and desist will probably be the owner. LOL!! Of course, I am joking. But in all seriousness, that is a good question. My guess is that whomever owns the trademark "Commodore" probably owns the ROM's. However, I'm c...
