This web site mentions the first year magnetic tape was used for computer data storage was in 1951. It also mentions the Vic 20: http://royal.pingdom.com/2008/04/08/the-history-of-computer-data-storage-in-pictures/ So far, I've discovered that the Wang 3300 made use of a dual cassette tape drive in ...

So, does that mean all of my packages to Canada will be opened before they get to their destinations? Or is this some kind of X-ray/Bomb sniffing dog/etc. test? I assume if you are posting here, Paul, that you got yours? Haven't seen it yet, and the mail arrived today. From my experience, if you do...

We may consider this cart like a small Behr Bonz cartridge without menu, and is not so cheap considering 32 games included against 127 games. Btw it's a my opinion but FE3 or Mega-Cart are better even if not so cheap of course. Behr Bonz was more of an end product, while this seems to be more of so...

Thanks, Keith! I've also noticed Canada (america's hat) is always the last to get mass mailed items. Europe will always arrive before Canada. Seems strange because Toronto is so close to Chicago. Perhaps we are so close that canadians know to have very tight customs when dealing with their strange ...

I can't remember where I got it from originally years ago, but I've made a .d64 of the disk for all to enjoy. It can be downloaded at:

Nice Workbench! I had Amiga 2000 -> 3000 -> 3000T, and even picked up a spare 500 and 1200, before getting a 4000. All between June 1988 thru September 1997, a good 10-years!! It was an awesome time to be ahead of the curve over those lame DOS and clueless Apple users -- heh. :P I like what they ha...

It's a fallacy to believe that programmers had any power in controlling the evolution with computers. In fact, most programmers are given the specifications of what the program is supposed to do, then they write the code necessary to perform those functions on whatever equipment the end user will be...

Jeff, I think you underestimate the value of your work in the community. I just learned some kid on that silly ratemyprofessors site is repeatedly bashing me because of a bad grade! Maybe I'm just too sensitive, but it sort of feels like slander. It doesn't seem like a fair system if a single person...

Of course, you could always just buy a black and white television  . Skip the B&W television and go for the old monochrome green Amdek monitors. Those were awesome. I actually used to use one of those on my Amiga 500 in the early 1990's on the composite out port for several months after my...

Those kids were having fun combining their imagination with what was cutting edge technology of their day. Jealous people called them dorks, but I think we all know they were the pioneers of their age.

I like how his little brother (?) immediately asks "how much did that cost, dad?" as if later he wants to sum up the presents and see if everyone got equally much worth of gifts. That's exactly the sort of mean-spirited question I would have asked at that age  . I echo that sentiment...

When it comes to console/arcade games, I always loathed Altered Beast. How did it manage to rate so highly, anyway?
