Replace all the chips!

From the seller? I was playing games then the 128s power supply smoked up, I turned off the unit instantly, waited for the PSU to cool down, but the unit won't turn on now

It could be, we are gonna try and fix it in the long run, i have it set up on my desk ready to fix, and after that, i am gonna turn it on and see if we get video, because it was working fine!

It works, but after 5 minutes it started smoking up, and i checked, its the PSU, 220v and we are 240 volts here, so we are ringing around to get a new PSU for it so we rang up this guy, we're talking to him now

I will definitely go there! I'm taking my VIC 20 and my C128 there too and i will bring my laptop for the music competition

I don't know much about Vic's but I know some of the problems and the solvers for them, so try replacing the VIC-I chip in both the Vic's

Never seen the c16 basic so could u guys add a c16 emulator, with about 512kb memory built in instead of the 16 k memory?

I want to get into the retro computer repairing hobby too, both a collector and repairer get it? So I need some partially working Vic 20s or C64s so I can grab some of the chips off eBay and repair them so I can add them into the collection, must include PSU, rf modulator and all that etc

I would love to have another Vic that has a problem, and I can try and fix it, and I'll have another working VIC

I know, I will keep mine for years! I have a new desk so my laptop and my Vic are on it

It has a C64 mode you can get into by pressing the Commodore key and resetting the thing or typing GO64 into the basic interpreter
