Hi and welcome! Your best bet is probably one of the SD2IEC interfaces, for example Jim Brain's uIEC which sells for $55. It uses an SD card to store .prg files or disk images so you can easily transfer programs from your PC or Mac to the SD card and load them into the VIC with the standard Commodor...

I HATE when people steal ideas. I guess Jeff, just like anyone here, never copyrighted his game :? . Is there a way to prevent him from selling the app anyway? Maybe write to someone at Apple and point a link to this forum, asking to cancel the game from the store? You don't have to do anything to ...

Amazing. What's even more amazing is that this must mean there are people willing to pay that much for it :?

I open 'em... sometimes, I use an exacto knife if it's really really valuable, but I open 'em. That's the spirit! It irks me when someone won't open and use a copy of a program because it's more valuable to collectors unopened, while there are other people out there who would love to get their hand...

anyone have a download link for the disk/prg version of this Dancing Bear game??... Heh, I'd be interested in such a link, because everyone at the last SCCAN meeting told me not to open up a mint, still-covered-with-cellophane box of Dancing Bear for the VIC-20. I kept telling them, "But how c...

1541 Ultimate-II. Made for the C64 and C128, but works very well in stand-alone mode with the VIC 20. At least the original 1541 Ultimate does; I don't own a 1541 Ultimate-II but there has apparently been some problems getting standalone mode to work but the developer is working on it. http://www.15...

I think it's quite simple: If you think instructions are needed: Add instructions - inside or outside of the game. If the game is self-explanatory, don't add instructions. :D +1 Almost all of the games I had for my VIC were pirate copies without instructions and I don't remember having any problem ...

Ray Carlsen to the rescue, as always: How to add a device change switch (8 to 9, 10, or 11) to your Commodore disk drive.

Welcome! A good question with several answers. This sticky thread in the Emulators and Cross-development section has a whole lot of info about this. However, the easiest and most affordable way today would probably be to buy a uIEC from Jim Brain . It's a device that lets you use a modern day SD car...

Well, I din't have neither room nor time for it, and no microdrive, so I really don't regret getting rid of it.

At the time, Atari 8-bits were a good computer that fell between a costly home computer and the outrageous Apple personal computer. And don't forget that when the Atari 800 and 400 were released in 1979 they were just as far ahead of the competition technology-wise as the C64 was three years later,...
