Re: WIP VIC32 - 32-column 'pet loader' style program

Fantastic! Looks great... It is almost like a VZ-200 (my 1st computer too!), but with LOWER-CASE as well and better colour-modes and better sound, etc. etc!

What would be the maximum theoretical (text) screen size you could manage on a Vic?

Cheers,

Mike.

Re: 32-column 'pet loader' style program

That would be great, as being part-time WinVICE user (or perhaps, just a total cabbage-head), getting a .prg to loads as a disk file has me stumped.

Cheers,

Mike.

Re: 32-column 'pet loader' style program

Hi,

I'm trying to get this running in WinVICE (3.5), but am having no luck.

I've tried various RAM config, putting 8K at A000 and another 8K at 2000, but no go.

Any idea on which settings I should look into?

Cheers,

Mike.

Re: VICE 3.5 has been released

What's the difference between the "SDL" and "GTK" versions? The last version of WinVICE I used was 3.2, then they did something to the GUI which made it pretty-much unusable for me - used to be a 'standard' Windows-looking program, but they changed the entire layout-engine, or so...

Re: The Vic-20 launching Oct 2020

Finally available in Australia - via the slightly convoluted route of amazon.com.au <- amazon.co.uk!

But price and shipping are both reasonable, so I gambled the cash, along with at least a dozen other Aussie Vic-20 enthusiasts.

Cheers,

Mike.

Never used a Beeb in my life - but I always secretly want one!

Thank you for the link to the cart games. I'm sure they'll soon find happy homes.

NOS Vic-20 cart games (Tas, Australia)

Hi Guys,

Just came across this ad on the dreaded FB...

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/it ... 3648938754

Not mine and I have no connection to the seller, but I thought they looked interesting and not too pricey.

Cheers,

Mike.

Re: The Vic-20 launching Oct 2020

Anyone in the UK willing to buy one for me and post it on to me in Australia?

I'll cover all costs...

Cheers,

Mike.

Sounds good, Andy. Looking forward to both games! :-)

P.S. You might want to update your main website - can't see any reference to Pumpkid...

Re: New Game: Pumpkid

Hey Andy, have you a game in-mind, or are you open to suggestions? I know a lot of us less-talented programmers long for Vic-20 versions of some classic C-64 releases... (hint H.E.R.O.!) How about a poll to see what would be most requested, or are you more into original creations? Cheers, Mike. Than...

Very nice - extremely polished and professional-looking...

AndyH - HewCo? Not THE Andy Hewson by any chance? :-)

Sorry to hear about Sid, but we're all knocking on a bit now...

If there's a need for a few extra donations to get the forum over to a host that respects their client, let me know as I'm ready to chip-in...

Cheers,

Yes, and YES...

Actually most of the early C64 Activision titles would make great candidates for conversion for the Vic.
