http://paulq.org/supervisor1_0001.jpg I welcome all Denial members to visit our facility. (It's not a very good picture, but it looks just like me) I am happy to announce that my own personal sole proprietorship company, which is PaulQ consulting, has secured a contract sub-contracting with a large...

It wasn't even so much that the Mac wasn't innovative, it was actually a backwards step. For example, we already had mice to control cursors and pointers, but then Apple made it worse by reducing it to one button and an awkward shape. We already had a GUI and full colour graphics for our computers, ...

I'll have to differ on that one. True multi-tasking (like that on the Amiga) for Microsoft didn't come until Windows 95, NT, etc.. Cooperative multi-tasking was in Windows 3.1 (and it didn't multi-task that well, in part because it was not pre-emptive multi-tasking like that on the Amiga). You can ...

Many things I didn't like about Apple, which include: -They cannibalized the Apple line of computers in favour of the Macintosh line. There was no reason the two platforms could not have co-existed except for Steve Job's ego. The IIGS was a remarkable machine in contrast to the Macintosh. -All throu...

I can remember when blank floppy disks were $10 each, while a blank computer cassette tape could be bought for $2. I was overjoyed when the price of a single floppy dropped to $5, so I bought one even though I didn't have a disk drive to use it in. I just wanted to own my very own floppy disk, which...

Going to give it to him? Wow, Golan; you've been snubbed by Mr. Bernardo. I don't think he likes the cut of your jib. The darn Protecto 80 has some sort of copy protection. Not so with the Data-20. If I could lay my hands on one of these, I could make a couple of clones. That would be really cool. ...

Thats why so many of use tape device with C64 at first. Yes, I started with a C64 and a tape drive first. Same here. I think it was a pretty standard procedure for us Vic 20 owners who moved up to a C64. I got my Vic and Datasette when the Vic was around $100; when I got my C64, the C64 was $199, b...

It'll sure beat getting fat sitting behind a desk all day or working on an assembly line. ;) Are there any long-term health risks in this line of work? i.e. exposure to Asbestos etc. No; as a matter of fact, we are specifically prohibited from performing a blower door test on homes that may have in...

Standards for Energy Auditors are becoming more stringent as it's likely to become law that an energy audit be performed on all resale homes under the Green Energy act. The clueless will be displaced with my graduating class. As for me, it's a step on my path to becoming a renewable energy technicia...
