Follow up to this . I ended up removing the kernel character set basic and the 555. It turned out the biggest problem was the Vic chip. This is really nice and I am currently testing it out with a GGlabs card to a Raspberry PI set-up.

Just a quick update. Vic version running the NASA feeds has been going for over 6.5 hours,

Is there a way to exit of of the feed while it is loading or if it locks up short of resetting?

Still, it seems pretty reliable on (NTSC) VIC-20 with WiModem now.

On the Vic-20 version with wedge (working now) it ran for over an hour going through the all the feeds in Kiosk mode. Failed during a BBC feed.

It is good to know that the RSS Reader works with other user port Internet solutions :) Yes it is great to see it works with my hack jobs...
