Maybe I am wrong but I believe the merging you are referring to can easily be done with Programmer's Aid.

Hello, I understand this buffering thing... not too complicated. One way buffering for the adresses, two way buffering for the data lines. Have you seen my message for custom made expander cartridges ? I could make a custom expander with or without buffers with the physical geometry and memory confi...

The board and parts are exposed... nobody seems to be making plastic casing of adequate proportions anymore. However, the whole thing, except for the edge connector tab is covered with conformal coating which makes it safe to touch. Its a bit like the whole thing was dipped in clear liquid plastic. ...

1540-1541 Head realignement service

Hello people, I annouce that I have the knowledge and necessary equipment to realign R/W heads of VIC-1540, VIC-1541 and 1541C floppy drives. If you have trouble reading your older disks, it may not be because the disks have lost their signal quality but because your drive is slowly getting out of a...

I gotta admit I'm a bit frustrated by these replies... The parts are cheap but the wiring time is not and neither is the vector board I build it on. This is a new board made with new parts and I check it and garantee it. Nowhere else around can you have a board that will provide you not only with 32...

32k ram expanders

After a few people asked for pricing here too. I annonce that I will make and sell 32k ram expansions for anyone who is willing to pay. I use either Sharp LH52256C or Cypress CY62256L depending on pricing and availability. Using one or the other makes no difference for the VIC20 itself because of it...

Just tell me what options you would like. As I said, the starting price is 70$U.S. for a 32k ram.

I would say add 10$ work per addtional option plus the price of the part. Contact me trough MSN messenger

Tall characters

I believe, somewhere around 1982, there was a program published for the VIC in a compute's gazette that used this features of the VIC chip to have 16 pixels tall characters.

I think it was called VIC banner or something like that.

On former funet, now Zimmer's, I could only find a ram compatible version of omega race. If there is a version that runs in blk1 then I guess it makes easy for people who do not wish to invest the time to understand the very simple BLK adressing scheme of the VIC. But the job of modifying all games ...

tower of hanoi somwhere?

I remember back in christmas 1983 some neighbours came to our house and I had a nice game of tower of hanoi that entertained everyone.

Does anybody know if there is still somewhere a good version of tower of hanoi for the VIC ?

The Scott Adams game cartridges are said to be compatible with a device called VOTRAX.

Never seen one in stores or heard of anywhere else.

Found this information in the leaflet instructions of voodoo castle.

An absolute certain way to have these images work is to have a 32k ram expansion with a read-only mode switch. With a configuration like that, all you have to do is load the ROM image file then flip your expansion to read-only. To start the rom image, just type sys64802 or press the reset switch (if...

My solution for running Scott Adams games in VICE is to have a "custom" memory configuration with ram available at BLK2 and 3 but not at BLK1.

This avoids having to software "unexpand" the vic because with no ram at blk1, it will look no further.
