I believe, somewhere around 1982, there was a program published for the VIC in a compute's gazette that used this features of the VIC chip to have 16 pixels tall characters.

I think it was called VIC banner or something like that.

On former funet, now Zimmer's, I could only find a ram compatible version of omega race. If there is a version that runs in blk1 then I guess it makes easy for people who do not wish to invest the time to understand the very simple BLK adressing scheme of the VIC. But the job of modifying all games ...

My solution for running Scott Adams games in VICE is to have a "custom" memory configuration with ram available at BLK2 and 3 but not at BLK1.

This avoids having to software "unexpand" the vic because with no ram at blk1, it will look no further.
