mrr open your eyes and read it again I say EXACTLY what I did ! if you are to stupid to look at a board and see with your eyes the location I say I used...it is you that has the problem and I would like to know a BETTER way to do this SO YES I AM ASKING! I don't know if there is anything wrong with your 25' cable but I know I would never use anything longer than 6'.
I have built and sold about 100 25 foot cables and even use 1 myself with no issues

its the cap that is part of the reset , when it fails the vic20 will not boot or be hard to boot

working on a vic20 that takes close to 30 seconds to turn on when you turn it on
luckily it was just C13 that needed to be replaced
now it boots like it should

yes you can get red/green/blue 4 lead led`s that fit
along with a lot of other variants

today i dug out my 1540 and decided to do a little work to it I have added a 1540/1541 adapter board to the drive and I can select what mode to boot from when turning the drive on I use the the write protect sensor to detect and do the switching, I know its nothing new and has been done before that ...
