Re: Additional Sound Chip Suggestions...
After a bit of reading, it looks like there isn't really a moderm derivative of the AY-3-8910 still being produced. I had read a few years ago that someone was making them for slot machines and such, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Sorry about that. But... The Yamaha 2149F is a licensed, pin-c...

Re: Additional Sound Chip Suggestions...
Just thinking that the AY chips (or some derivative thereof) are still made today and probably easier to find than the others, I might suggest going that direction. I wonder if you could use several of them in tandem like the HardSID did, where you could have anywhere from 1-4 chips for 1-4 channels...

Re: Vic McKracken - fcbpaint-image released at Revision 2017
I didn't know that the VIC chip could only access the internal memory. Thanks for the info.
It still looks really neat and not something I might have expected from a VIC-20. Nice!

Awesome! Sure as heck wouldn't have expected that from a VIC with only an 8K expander...
Great job!

Re: New Floppy Days Podcast #70 - Interview with Michael Tomczyk, Leader of the Vic-20 Commando Team
Yeah, Tomczyk always seemed like a pretty neat guy to me, just in any of the interviews with him that I have seen.
I'm thinking that regardless of who is responsible for any aspect of the VIC-20, I'm glad they pulled it off, because it's one fun machine!

Re: New Floppy Days Podcast #70 - Interview with Michael Tomczyk, Leader of the Vic-20 Commando Team
I don't really know much about Michael Tomczyk, but Leonard Tramiel advised to "Believe nothing Michael Tomczyk says." when he spoke at CommVEx in 2015. I didn't concern myself with it, but Bil Herd was standing right next to him and backed what he was saying. Not trying to start an argume...

Re: PET keys?
Blasted FCC... I honestly don't know anyone who's a fan. They don't do much more than hinder the progress of great products and cause a lot of people a lot of grief. Not to mention all of the money it costs people to get their products compliant and sales that are lost when a cutting edge product fa...
