I've fiddled with it a bit and it does seem to be the VIC itself. The cart works fine on another VIC and another Jelly Monsters cart has the same issue on this VIC. I'm not sure it's the same issue you had Jeff. It looks similar, but games like Fast Eddie work fine. I have noticed that the power con...

Wierd video problem with VIC-20
Any ideas what may be the trouble? It looks like it went on an acid trip, but this only happens with Jelly Monsters and Cosmic Cruncher.

Your post about something along the lines of a 64NIC+ or an RR-Net implementation for the VIC is what I was expecting before I watched the video. It would be great to see something like that be developed. I know it's a lot of hard work to bring something like that together. That why I was disappoint...

VIC-20 Disk Utilities
Are there any good disk utilities for copying single files between disks or duplicating disks with either one or two drives? Most everything I have or have found is for the C64 or C128.

If I am doing rev-engr, I also use PhotoImpact to mirror the back PCB and lay it over the top at 50% transparency, which makes it easier to rev-engr.

I reverse engineered it. It appears to map an 8K RAM cart at BLK1 into RAM-RAM3. But, since BLK1 is only 8kB, it maps RAM2 and RAM3 into the same 4kB bank, as far as I can see. Strangely, the dual TTL ICs seema waste. They are 70LS00 units, as far as I can tell from the reverse engineering. But, th...

The online Digital Press guide is always available here and more up to date: http://www.digitpress.com/DP/cmf/search.cmf Some computers were introduced with the sixth edition, although the sections only cover cartridges. I began with the C64 section and took over the Vic20 section when Ward retired...

I've seen copies of Jelly Monsters pop up on eBay (UK website) from time to time. I have a Mega-Cart so I wasn't particularly interested. I haven't had much luck with eBay so far in finding this cart. I've checked for it periodically, but so far nothing's come up. I'll keep an eye out though. The M...

Yeah, the lore about Jelly Monsters and Star Battle being very hard to find is about the only real erroneous statement from Ward's guide. They are far more common than that; I think I run both at about 4 or 5 rarity in the DP guide listing today. You usually see one on eBay every week or two, so ju...

Are there even separate versions of Jelly Monsters? I know about a few label variations and at least two different dumps but both seem to default to NTSC positioning and flicker a lot no matter the video mode. Good luck, they're not quite as uncommon on the market as Ward Shrake once upon a time su...
