Re: New Release: Exit Plan Z 2

I highly recommend Keyquest as a great example of this genre:

It's a very rare cartridge that is virtually impossible to buy as an original but it's available on the Mega-Cart and eslapion's Behr-Bonz and it's also available to download as a CRT image.

Re: Warning : Your VIC is now clasified as a Lethal Weapon!

I think we need a National VIC Registry so they know we are going to be responsible VIC owners. We actually did something along those lines about 9 years ago: http://sleepingelephant.com/ipw-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=3753 Sadly, the link to the old registry is dead now because the ide...

+1

I have the game on Mega-Cart, though; about as arcade perfect as you could possibly expect from the VIC. Great game and great collectable for the person who can afford it.

You could also explore Jeff's games. All his games are coded in BASIC for unexpanded VIC and you'll be amazed at some of the things he's managed to achieve within those limitations: http://sleepingelephant.com/denial/games/ These look great.. All I see are photos on this page. Is there a download l...

My copy just arrived and it's from the last batch of pre-orders to the UK. A big thank you to all concerned.

Re: Tandy 1400 Software

I don't have much to contribute in terms of software recommendations but you could do a lot worse than watch the Computer Chronicles. There are hundreds of episodes available on the Internet Archive and YouTube and they cover lots of obscure hardware and software. Here are a few episodes on laptops ...

The lack of a border is a tell-tale sign that it's not a VIC-20 game.

Again I thought that the books were still being printed/bounded, or that anyway I was going to be amongst the very last buyers to receive his copy, but not without surprise I've already found my "VIC 20 A Visual History" in the mailbox! That's probably because the orders within It...

Re: Making a Vic20 Cart

One of the things I've wondered is why no one's ever had a go at making their own Mega-Cart. The ROM dump has been around for a while now and, since EPROM burners have become more common, it makes more sense for people with soldering skills to try and do it for themselves instead of relying on a hor...

Re: VIC Game Club No. 1 – Qix Inspired Games

To throw in another tidbit, the guy who programmed Shark Attack (Clifford Ramshaw) also wrote a book of type-in Basic games for the VIC called Innovative Computing. I don't know of any other games he made for the VIC but I would be surprised if there aren't any more.
