This you mean. ... Exactly! The program uses my MINIGRAFIK extension for CBM BASIC to create a 160x192 pixel screen. Its commands are prefaced with '@'. Thanks, I get it now. I just need to get that expansion and play around with it one day. Is she Brooke Shields? :) No, it's my other wife, ...

Like in VICtoria Gold Edition ? Kind of. Explained below: I'd like to know what's "low-res" about being able to change individual pixels (or twice-wide pixels in multi-colour). :? I'm visualizing each character as containing 4 chunky pixels. Each chunky pixel is two pixels wide and...

P.S., having the completed images display on an unexpanded VIC would be ideal, for using it as a full-screen low-res bitmap mode for game intros, etc.

Thanks Carlsson. Yes, I'm trying to do a "low-res" bitmap screen using redefined characters. Ideally, it would have KoalaPad input, maybe a separate joystick version. Hitting the space bar would take the user to a menu screen where they could select colors or load/save files. Doesn't seem ...

Help Redefining VIC-20 Character Set

Hi, I've done searches and can't find exactly what I need to know. I'm pretty new to the VIC, but I've done a little BASIC programming on the C64. I want to redefine the entire VIC-20 character set, all 256 characters. I'm sure I'll need some memory expansion, right? I see how to redefine individual...

Re: WTB: Vic 20 Joysticks

I see a big upside to memory loss. You can forget about all the crap that irritates you and when you encounter good things you've forgotten you have, you can enjoy those first moments over and over again. Imagine waking up every morning and feeling the way you did when you got your first VIC-20? Wi...

What program did you use to draw this? Oh, I just used Photoshop and tried to work within your guidelines, while using the VIC-20 palette. Am I placing colors together that can't go together? I used three colors from 1-8 and selected dark yellow as my 1-16 color. I myself use ULTRAFONT in a Commodo...

Wow, pretty nice. I like elements of both, actually. The tail, wings, and outlines are much better in #1, but the head, legs, and scaled chest are great in #2. You should combine them. :-) Need a hand with graphics? I'd love to help, those look like they'd be pretty fun and quick. PM me if you like,...

Hello all, my user name is simply a re-arrangement of the letters in my first name: Shane. I'm primarily a C64/128 user, but I own a VIC as of this year and plan to continue using it. I guess my next VIC purchase will be an expansion cart... 8k should do, probably? My interests in the VIC have to do...
