Ah, nevermind. I know I haven't updated much of the site in quite some time. It's not like I profit from this; I have a real job to take up my time. i don't think anyone doing this kind of site is in it for the money, certainly i'm not and Martijn at WoS , Atari Age 's Albert or Kim Lemon aren't ro...

And I may be wrong, but TMR sounds a little grumpy. I think my feeling are hurt. Wouldn't have said "grumpy" as such, but y'really need to get the site up to a state where people can submit content, otherwise they won't even know what to write - to paraphrase, if you build it right...

i don't know if you can correlate standardized layout with higher hits. i think the sites you mentioned are popular regardless of what their sites look like. Well, it works both ways to be honest but yes, i'd say that the hit rates of a lot of these sites are in part due to their ease of navigation...

There's a reason most sites are similar in that respect, it makes it as transparent as possible to navigate around them and that's why i had to "walk" away for a bit when i saw the new layout And boring... they all look the same. Give it some character! 8) i've read more ridiculous commen...

Thing is, it's kind of cute. In my eyes at least. Certainly one hell of a lot different to most other staidly designed sites. There's a reason most sites are similar in that respect, it makes it as transparent as possible to navigate around them and that's why i had to "walk" away for a b...

Why make 'em exclusive? Have a VIC music compo, then release the entries as a music disk! =-)

Umm... might get moved to beta news on c64.sk (i'm one of the editors there though, could have a word with CreaMD about it perhaps) but CSDb is actually the C64 Scene Database so doesn't cover the VIC scene...

My routines tend to vary depending on what i'm doing, at the moment i've not needed a full ORA'd soft sprite routine for a VIC game so i don't have any source, sorry...

It's actually fairly common knowledge, because the same tricks that the VIC uses have been utilised for the 264 series and, to a degree, for the bitmap-based machines like the Spectrum and CPC. There's a myriad of variations and sneaky work-arounds for specific graphics, but essentially, you move li...
