Re: wanted - an 8501 cpu
The 6510 substitute for the 8501 is indeed an interesting option ..but so far I have had no success contacting it's developer.
I tried leaving a comment/request to his blog ..but so far ..no response ?

wanted - an 8501 cpu
anyone know where I might obtain an 8501 cpu at a reasonable price ..
I recently restored 2 x commodore plus 4 computers ..and a C16 ..
Sadly I'm one cpu short ...
I can test them all by swapping the cpu over ...but it would be nice and safer to have one in each computer.

Got a few ROMs programmed - finally
The adapter bases I ordered from the USA finally arrived ..so figured I'd have a play with some 27C64s I had recovered and blanked with UV..this weekend. Downloaded the bin images ..but wasn't sure my TL866 programmer was up to the job. Well the 27C64 _is_ in the list ..but I'm sure is not natively ...

Cheap n cheerful PSU fix ?
I have a good few of the cream coloured wedge power supplies hanging around .. ..all of which are faulty . BUT ..It is almost always the crappy 5v rail which fails .. Constructed my VIC 20 breakout box
Didn't like the Idea of adapting and cutting cables so after doing the S-video mod ..I decided to design and construct a breakout box for the VIC20 rear .. Made with a dual phono output to connect the audio to my monitor which is stereo ..so paralleled up the phonos .. Then fitted a panel mount S-vi...

Re: My PET 4032 is dead
Now I have space invaders on my PET ..I figured it worth adding a small single chip amp powered from the 5volt rail... inside the case ..and doing the user port sound mod ..
It's very effective indeed..
