Re: PET-style keyboard reassembly
This late response might be of use to others. I encountered the same problem in a pet-style VIC keyboard. The answer is that Commodore simply used the same key stem for the F7 key, but they shaved off the little protrusion that makes it fit the correct way. One of the keyboard's key stems has been s...

Re: How ELSE does the PET-style keyboard differ?
The product may not be gold, but the tip IS. Does treatment repair a particular keyboard issue, or should it be given before problems arise?

How ELSE does the PET-style keyboard differ?
I have a VIC with a PET keyboard and one with what I see people calling a “eurostyle” keyboard, both with 2-prong PSUs. I swapped “tops” after the older VIC lost video. With my PET-VIC hybrid machine, cartridges and tapes seem to play perfectly; all seemed well, for months. I installed a test cart a...

Hello,
I obtained a VIC game similar to this on diskette. It’s by Crystal Microsoft (no relation) it’s called Crystal Downs.

Re: Wanted: Commodore Artist Cartridge
Dear Croc, I’ve got a Commodore Artist cartridge! I’m trying to sell it now on eBay for $30.00. I have all the Commodore carts as well, but I’m looking for the early cartridges with the metal, Japanese labels (Maybe that’s what you meant by 1001]. I need MIDNIGHT DRIVE and the old POKER. I already h...

Re: How to use a PAL in the US?
Mike, thanks again! So getting a PAL VIC men’s getting a PAL TV, if getting a PAL VIC is even necessary! I’ll look up the threads you mention.

Re: Using a TI joystick port splitter?
Thanks for such a thorough reply. Can you name any joysticks capable of shorting-out a VIC? I want to avoid them!

How to use a PAL in the US?
Fellow VICtims, Though I’m in the US, I can see that, I am going to need a PAL version of the VIC. You, in the US or Canada, who are running a PAL, how do you do it? How do you power it, and how do you view it? Do you use adapters? Is the Commodore monitor PAL compatible, or did you buy a PAL TV? Hm...

Re: Using a TI joystick port splitter?
I had to try it out for myself. The Texas Instruments splitter fit into the VIC nicely. Two Atari/VIC-compatible controllers fit perfectly into the female ports on the splitter! I plugged in a game (Outworld) which wouldn’t work at all. When you look at the connector on the end of a joystick cord, y...

Using a TI joystick port splitter?
Hello, I purchased a box of assorted VIC parts and received a Texas Instruments joystick port splitter to boot. It splits one male, Atari-style joystick port to two female ports. I’m sure someone has tried to use this to attach two sticks to the VIC. Has there ever been any success? I’m just curious...

Re: For new users - make a post or say hello
Hello from an old English teacher whose best friend, as a child, was his VIC-20. Now VIC is my time machine. I am in my fifties and love collecting VIC 20 memorabilia, have built a period desk as the setting for my collection and want to make videos to share it with all of you! How to do it? I’m sti...

Re: Onboard five-inch monitor
Have you ever seen 5 inch LCDs that screw on to the Sony PlayStation 1? https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Psone-with-lcd-screen-Tested-Broken-screen-and-Hinge-READ-DESCRIPTION-AS-IS/392272314841?hash=item5b554081d9:g:trYAAOSwyhVcp~Ri I'd power the thing with a LiPO pack. You're making a SX-20 it seems... Gyr...
