VIC for parts or repair

I found this while browsing:
https://www.elecshopper.com/vintage-com ... epair.html
I have no affiliation and know nothing more than what is stated in the ad.

Re: VIC Steampunk — Love it or Hate it?

The robot isn't finished yet. I still have to build an interface board from the expansion/cartridge port to all the I/O. Here is what it looks like at the moment: http://sleepingelephant.com/ipw-web/bulletin/bb/download/file.php?id=3178&t=1 I wasn't planning to use the screen as a "face&quo...

Re: VIC Steampunk — Love it or Hate it?

Oops! I wasn't clear. I intentionally did NOT modify the VIC. Sorry for the misunderstanding. The monitor is just stuck on top with tape. It is designed to sit on the dash of a car, but it now resides on the top of the VIC. The power supply/regulator is external and plugs in like a normal mains supp...

Re: VIC Steampunk — Love it or Hate it?

I don't think the photo is actually hosted here. I just clicked the "Img" button above and inserted the link. But at least it shows up... for now. I have added a battery supply as well as a slightly larger screen to my VIC, sort of in the same way. http://wrcooke.net/classiccomputer/vicpow...

Re: VIC20 and burning new ROM carts

Remove the first two bytes. The files attach the load address at the beginning. If you look at those two bytes they should be 00, A0 for most cartridges, indicating a load address of $A000.

Re: Not quite... The end of the ROM based PLA for the 64

Hi banman, I'm not really qualified to answer that question. It looks pretty legit to me, but that is really not saying much. The "chn" at the bottom almost certainly means made in China, but they probably have manufacturing plants there. I did find this link that might be some use. Not th...

Re: Not quite... The end of the ROM based PLA for the 64

Hi banman, Thanks for the link. An interesting video. I've never owned a 64 and don't currently intend to get one -- I have too much stuff and too many computers already. But I am always up for learning new stuff. That doesn't take up much space. I will continue following this thread, but will mostl...

Re: Not quite... The end of the ROM based PLA for the 64

Actually the discussion I have with eslapion has been going on and off for quite some time. If you have got the time go back to where I first come in (actually it's better to go to the very start of the thread). I have found the whole process fascinating and extremely educational. . Hi banman, Than...

Re: Not quite... The end of the ROM based PLA for the 64

I haven't followed this thread enough to know if this applies, but I would like to offer a word of warning/advice. Oscilloscope sampling rates come in two types: real time and equivalent time. In real time sampling, all the samples are gathered at one time. In equivalent time sampling they are space...

Re: Not quite... The end of the ROM based PLA for the 64

The logo appears to be Toshiba: https://www.elnec.com/en/support/ic-logos/manufacturer-description/?manuf=Toshiba+%28US%29 There are various sites on the web that help identify companies by the logo. The one above looks pretty good (I googled "IC manufacturer logos". Here is the base URL: ...

Re: Not quite... The end of the ROM based PLA for the 64

#113 says "All or any of the above combined." then what do you get if you combine #6 with #112 ? :? If you can only fine one solution and it is stupid, you have no choice. If it works, it wasn't stupid and you're a here. If it doesn't work, people will say nice things at your funeral. #28...
