Re: Gamebase20 version 3!

Thanks Mat, really superb job with the archive - and so much new stuff to check out! Having a lot of fun going through all the different authors and discovering stuff I didn't know they had done! :)

Preserved: Plumb Crazy

After Mat's superb work with the recent GB20 release, I noticed that Plumb Crazy (Terminal Software) was missing from the archives - and realised that we had some trouble trying to port it over (possibly due to its fast loader) and forgot all about it. I had another go today, and managed to get it w...

Sometimes it's both as with Chicken Challenge (that one I am keeping for sure). At least it loads along with both Hi-Tech tapes, so I won't be fretting about wasting money there... Still looking for the following 50 vic-20 tape releases. Scroll down to Commodore Vic-20 - Tape http://retrocollector....

Ultimate style game for the Vic

Hi all, I remember a while back that C64 coder Carl Muller (TMNT, Speedball 2) suggested that his Ultimate-clone game called Necromancer 2 runs on a 16K Vic 20. I've never really heard of a ML game being able to execute on both a C64 and Vic 20 to be honest.... http://www.gamesthatwerent.com/gtw64/n...

Hi there Perseus, I'm very sorry, but I had a good look for the files, and couldn't find them. I had been regularly archiving stuff onto DVD, but this one slipped through the net it seems. Hopefully someone else here would have grabbed it and will still have it. I would re-port, but i've packed all ...

I'm wondering if the v1 and v2 versions suggest it was a home developed tool or something.

May have well been for the C64 then as well. It was bundled with a load of Vic 20 games, hence originally thinking it was a Vic title.

Thanks for taking a look :)

Record Keeper program

Hi all, I recently picked up an obscure tape which had "Keeper" written on one side with two copies and "Keeper V2" on the other side with two copies. Looks like a hand created tape that may have had limited sales ... maybe. It's full name is "Record Keeper" and was wri...

Hi there, I found reference to Chicken Challenge and Brain Pain in some old issues of Home Computer Weekly (See below), but it seems only Chariot Races got a full release? Would be fantastic, as Mayhem says, to fully preserve the other Micro Antics games before the tapes deteriorate fully. Btw, real...

Ah of course! ... makes sense now. :)

But I agree - its very hard to make head or tail of what a lot of the objects are (Like it needed a bit of text to say what you had just collected). I had the same problem with ET and Raiders of the Lost Ark on the VCS.

Is there a switch that has to be flicked to see all the holes or a part of the game you have to do to see them?

To get past I had to use the poke that one of the other guys supplied earlier in the thread.

I've got the urge to now dig out this game again - thanks for digging up this post to prompt that :-) I really want to fully finish the game and get some kind of solution together to put this one to bed. Probably will require a fair few save states in Vice :-) EDIT - Done it!! Got to the screen with...

Ah, my apologies Mat - I tried the pokes with the fixed version that Luigi did and not the original port. That seems to be fully working then! Obviously it will need fully testing, but i'll pass this over to Mike Taylor to take a look. Thanks Mat! So sounding like there is just the one to go now :)

Just an update, but Luigi has taken a look and I think we're close to a working version of "The Final Challenge" (5th adventure), but the cleaned tape is still producing the same error. "Stairway" is in a bad way (possible moisture damage), but Luigi is potentially being sent the...
